Prime Video announces new original content

Exciting content is on the way for sports fans and reality TV lovers on Prime Video. During Amazon’s annual Upfront presentation, Prime Video revealed it is producing two new sports documentaries and bringing back the iconic reality competition American Gladiators with a modern twist.

In collaboration with Skydance Sports and NFL Films, Prime Video is developing two highly anticipated titles:

The Home Team: NY Jets

This six-episode docuseries will follow six players from the New York Jets and their partners throughout the 2024–2025 NFL regular season. More than just sports highlights, the series offers a behind-the-scenes look into the personal and professional lives of these athletes and their families over 17 action-packed weeks.

Produced by VaynerWATT in association with NFL Films, the project brings together a powerhouse team of executive producers, including Jesse Sisgold, Jason T. Reed, and Jon Weinbach from Skydance Sports; Ross Ketover, Ken Rodgers, Jessica Boddy, and Keith Cossrow from NFL Films; as well as Eric Wattenberg, Gary Vaynerchuk, Matt Higgins, and Sam Brown from VaynerWATT. Sheena M. Joyce and Don Argott direct the series.

Terrell Owens Documentary

Terrell Owens redefined the wide receiver position in the NFL. This documentary traces his rise as one of the most talented—and controversial—figures in American football history. Known for his flashy playing style and turbulent relationships with teammates and the media, Owens became a symbol of both greatness and drama in the NFL.

The film not only revisits Owens’ groundbreaking career but also examines how he influenced future generations and where he stands today in both sports and culture. Directed by Alex Stapleton, the documentary is produced by NFL Films and Skydance Sports with a lineup of veteran producers including Mike Hill, Basil Iwanyk, and Ben Bitonti.
